The beaches of La Ciotat

La Ciotat offers a variety of beaches to suit all tastes.

 

The nearest beach from our hotel is Plage des Capucins, a 15-minute walk away. It has a first-aid post, toilets and a children's play area, making it a pleasant family beach within walking distance of restaurants and the town centre.

Mugel Park

This 12-hectare botanical park near the calanque of the same name boasts a wealth of vegetation in a breathtaking setting. A steep path takes you to a belvedere overlooking the sea at a height of 82 metres!

 

This unspoilt area can be reached from our hotel in less than thirty minutes on foot along the old port and the shipyards, or by bus on line 30.

Calanque de Figuerolles

The Calanque de Figuerolles, located in the Calanques National Park, is a picturesque place popular for its activities such as climbing, diving and kayaking. Accessible after a staircase of 87 steps, it is distinguished by its unique rock formations, including the Rocher du Capucin and the Lion Island.

The pebble beach is prohibited for dogs.


 

Cinema l’Eden-Théâtre

Do you know where the oldest cinema in the world is located? In La Ciotat! It was in this cinema, L'Eden, that the first film screening took place in 1899. Organized by the Lumière Brothers, it included the launch of a ship in La Ciotat. Today, you can visit this essential place of the 7th art which is still active.
